As far as I know, it's intended to be like this, to avoid a "loop" when using mouse to switch workspace. I don't use this functionnality, so I don't know what was the behavior in 4.2, could you be more precise on this ? (I'm not sure how it could cause a loop because of 'edge resistance' and the fact that your mouse in moving away from the edge in the new workspace). I suspect that eventually I'll get annoyed enough to change window managers (again).
