I don't know if it could be as my thought, anyway I tried this: vi /etc/apt/sources.list, disable two http mirro sourcesput the Sarge cd inapt-cdrom add -d /media/cdrom1 I checked sources.list had beed added two cdrom rowstasksel, select desktop enviroment but it failed back to console. Is there any choices for me to install an desktop env except download a whole iso again? Thanks for your time!best wishesLaowb

I think an old version of debian-installer is used That could well be the cause. The Sarge version of the installer does not support SATA very well. If you used a Sarge version, please try with a more recent image from: http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ and http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataAtapiHowto might help. As the problem described is with the harddisk and not with the CD-ROM, I doubt this is relevant. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
