Bug#384464: wrong compiler used

Checked the logs, Marc gave me the permission on behalv of aba
permission for iee80211, ipw* uploading as additional oot-modules to
unstable. Sorry for the confusion.

Andi isn't around to check with, but I can't
see any reason why he would have given approval to upload a new package via
t-p-u either -- if anything, this should have been either a squashfs-2.6.16
uploaded via unstable, or a squashfs uploaded via testing built for 2.6.16.

Nope. He did gave me explicit permission to upload them directly to
'testing' and adviced Ganneff to accept them in NEW. See the attached
log (I know you understand German quite well :).

Regardless, I see no reason to accept the package now given that 2.6.17 is
 due in testing soon.

However, it's not important for us (us means, the live team) that the
modules are actually in testing, t-p-u is ok too. If you remember back
on -release, the question was for a *temporary* inclusion until unstable
is ready. For 2.6.17, linux-modules-extra-2.6 is in place, as soon as
2.6.16 goes out of, squashfs-2.6.16 and unionfs-2.6.16 can be removed too.

Thanks for your attention anyway,
Daniel

Bug#384464: wrong compiler used

2006-08-24 Thread Daniel Baumann
Package: squashfs-2.6.16
Severity: grave

You used the wrong compiler, package is not usable. Please adjust to
enforce GCC 4.0 to comply with linux-2.6.16.

Regards,
Daniel

Why bother? This package was uploaded to testing-proposed-updates without
discussion with the release team; we don't have any intention of letting it
into testing by this means.

Of course, it was discussed with release team. Ask aba and he, they gave
me explicit permission to do so on IRC.
