Bug#384475: Shall this bug be closed?
We previously stated we won't add a shortcut other than the PrtSc button to the "Screenshot" button: shall this bug be closed? Attilio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

What's wrong with adding more than one way to allow for creating screenshots? You'd need some caption on the screenshot button that would show that a screenshot can also be taken with the PrtScr button, but that's about it. if you hit the prncs button, a screenshot will be actually saved by the underlying dfb subsytem, while the screeenshot button saves the screen at the GDK level. The screenshot button was introduced because not all archs had a prnsc button. attilio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? There is no possibility to select this button using TAB and cursor keys. I also tried the Print key without success. that is intentional: when i wrote the GTK frontend, i supposed people using the keyboard only would appreciate skipping of the screenshot button during button tabbing, so that they could access the other interface's elements more quickly. Yeah, but Jens seems to mention that tabbing doesn't work. that's correct: i disabled tabbing to the screenshot button, but this can be re-enabled. I suggest that Alt+S makes a screenshot (and the shortcut should be visible in the button via an underlines S). i think this can be done, but what about languages where "screenshot" is translated in a word that does not contain the "s" character ? d-b people, should this functionality be implemented anyhow? Would be a bad idea, yes. Mapping it to the PrtScr key could be a good idea, as Jens suggested. the screenshot button was indeed added because not all keyborards have a prtsc button.. :( I don't see a way out, unless re-enabling tabbing to the screenshot button. attilio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". No, tabbing works well. I just cannot select the screenshot button with it. Jens -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Ah, OK. But about about mouse support? Are there plans to support more mice? > >I suggest that Alt+S makes a screenshot (and the shortcut should be > >visible in the button via an underlines S). > > i think this can be done, but what about languages where "screenshot" is > translated in a word that does not contain the "s" character ? > d-b people, should this functionality be implemented anyhow? The usual way to solve this is to mark the shortcut using _ in the button name: "_Snapshot". A translation could use "Schn_appschuss". I don't know much about gtk, but it should not require further action from your side. Jens. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Package: debian-installer Severity: minor Hi, the graphical Debian Installer provides a Screenshot button but I'm unable to access it. There is no possibility to select this button using TAB and cursor keys. I also tried the Print key without success. I suggest that Alt+S makes a screenshot (and the shortcut should be visible in the button via an underlines S). Please note that serial mice for button selections are currently not supported.
