I would advice you to try ppp-udeb, but the version in unstable/testing has some bugs (#384121 and #385150) and you will have to make some changes by hand[1] to make it usable and test the installation. Of course, always there is the option to use the netinst and pppoeconf. Try booting the installer with 'install priority=medium' and select the ppp udeb that is listed in the list of additional components.
