Bug#398300: xf86EnableIOPorts: failed to set IOPL for I/O

2006-11-12 Thread David Broome
Package: x11-common
Version: 1:7.1.0-6
Severity: important

This error occurs when trying to spawn a new x-session from within a
open x-session.

It works fine as root.

I can verify that this package is the cuprit because downgrading to
1:7.1.0-5 fixed the problem.

The full output is

Hi,

About 6 months ago, you reported a bug to the Debian BTS regarding X
failing to start because of xf86EnableIOPorts errors. I am kind of
surprised that the problem appeared when upgrading x11-common. Did you
reproduce this problem recently? With Xorg/Etch?
With latest Xorg packages currently in unstable? If not, I will close
this bug in the next weeks.

Thanks,
Brice

I am using unstable and the bug is not reproducible.

It can be closed right away.

I have a folder that I keep track of any bugs I file now so as not to forget
them like this one. Sorry for the lack of follow up.

David
