Bug#404117: ever repeating ACPId event fills /var

2007-05-15 Thread Nico Golde
Hi,
that doesn't necessary need to be the kernel or acpid. The
events are hardware based so it might also be your BIOS.
Do you have a modified dsdt table? What kind of notebook are
you using?
Kind regards
Nico

Bug#404117: ever repeating ACPId event fills /var

2007-03-30 Thread Gordon Haverland
Hello.

I recently submitted a bug (416386) to Debian, about KDE being
very slow. After about 2 days, BOINC started acting up. In
trying to figure out that problem, I noted my /var partition was
completely full. As near as I can tell, the culprit was ACPId,
as its log file was 300 MB!

Looking at the sourceforge home of this project, I don't see any
evidence that the project even knows about this logging gone
crazy problem. So, I guess this is just a FYI.

Gord

So - what is it logging?

I've never seen that anywhere. If you're system produces these
events, it's a kernel or DSDT bug.

Cheers,
Cajus
