Bug#404593: new info?

2009-10-14 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hello Vincent,

Given zsh got some corruption and zsh does not contain any Perl programs, I
conclude that Perl isn't a culprit of your problem. Did you see problems since
the report has been filed? If no, maybe it'd better to close this bug.

Well, in the case of zsh, I later showed that zsh didn't lock the
history properly, I proposed a patch, and the bug was eventually
fixed. FYI, from /usr/share/doc/zsh/changelog.gz:

2008-04-17  Peter Stephenson  p...@csr.com
[...]
* Vincent Lefevre: 24818: Doc/Zsh/options.yo (modified),
Src/hist.c (with #ifdef HAVE_FTRUNCATE), Src/options.c, Src/zsh.h:
history file locking using fcntl().

Concerning the problem I found with Perl, I still don't know the cause.
I couldn't reproduce it since, even though I permanently run programs
under very similar conditions. And as there have been major upgrades of
each software (in particular, perl 5.8 - perl 5.10), I think it may be
better to close the bug.

Regards,
