Package: scid Followup-For: Bug #408930
After further investigation, it seems that http://prolinux.free.fr/scid/ is more promising scid continuation. First, its author preserves the application name and original author credits, then, he added a few really useful features. Most important of those (IMO): a) UCI support (old scid needed polyglot) - you can now perform multivariation analysis in scid (and configure UCI params) b) Extended auto-annotation options c) Training functions (see the page above for detailed change log since scid 3.6.1). So my current suggestion is to use http://prolinux.free.fr/scid/ The page above contains also some remarks regarding chessdb.sf.net. While those are too emotional, one must admit they seem reasonable.
