The startup-script 
/usr/share/xmms2/scripts/startup.d/xmms2-mlib-updater.sh tries to start 
/usr/bin/xmms2-medialib-updater, however, the binary's name is 
/usr/bin/xmms2-mlib-updater

I already fixed that bug in the development branch of xmms2 and that fix
will be included with the next release.

In the mean time you can just create
~/.config/xmms2/startup.d/xmms2-mlib-updater.sh and make it execute the
right binary.
