Bug#411703: rt2500-source: Unable to establish a network connection
Package: rt2500-source Version: 1.1.0+cvs20070219-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 With the version of rt2500-source in unstable I am unable to establish a network connection. My AP still shows up in scans, but I never get a response from my DHCP server (or rather, my DHCP requests never reach the server in the first place). My card is a Sweex card based on the Ralink RT2500 chipset: 00:0a.0 Network controller [0280]: RaLink RT2500 802.11g Cardbus/mini-PCI [1814:0201] (rev 01) Subsystem: RaLink Unknown device [1814:2560] Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 32, IRQ 193 Memory at d480 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Capabilities: access denied If I downgrade to the version of rt2500-modules built from the version of rt2500-source in testing, the card associates and gets a DHCP lease on its first attempt. NB, this looks similar to #399051 but it is not the same bug: the version that #399051 is filed against is the version that works fine for me; also I don't have the config file from the rt2500 package. - -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (530, 'testing'), (520, 'unstable'), (510, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-k7 Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages rt2500-source depends on: ii debhelper 5.0.42 helper programs for debian/rules ii module-assistant 0.10.8 tool to make module package creati rt2500-source recommends no packages. - -- no debconf information -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFF2wT8shl/216gEHgRAtRCAKDGIMy1WE6N3db5GiVCd4vFJ+YSvQCfdER8 AWRtrrelWYKA6O7hYvakFEI= =aSgL -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
