Bug#415394: uim: Is it unavoidable to remove old libuim versions?
Package: uim Version: 1:1.4.1-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: experimental Hi, I found libuim3(1:1.2.1-2) and dependent packages were removed by a dependency issue when I tried to install libuim5 in experimental. libuim5 depends libuim-data=1:1.4.1-1, and libuim-data 1:1.4.1-1 conflicts with libuim0, libuim1, libuim3 (<=1:1.2.1-2). As this result, libuim5 kicks out libuim3 and some packages. Although I'm not so familiar with UIM and its libraries, can't you make these libraries coexistence? The silent transition like this may give a trouble to dependent packages every time.
