Or maybe a note in a README.Debian file would suffice?

I would very much prefer that. I'll try to do an upload with
something in the README today. I am trying to get the newest version
of update-manager in unstable, and I plan to work on all the
improvements that were suggested here, then.

See you,

Though it affects few people I'm sure, it would be good if this stage
could be recognised and maybe the question asked in the GUI as opposed
 to the terminal.

Hi,

I'm just confirming the bug. Version 0.42.2 of update-manager is quite
old, there's a newer one in the experimental archive but it's not really
ready yet. We'll have to wait and see if it deals with apt-listbugs
better.

would be nice.

Bug#417900: update-manager: Better integration with apt-listbugs

2007-04-05 Thread Matthew Tylee Atkinson
Package: update-manager
Version: 0.42.2ubuntu22-11
Severity: minor

For users that have apt-listbugs installed, the package installation
``hangs'' at the ``preparing packages'' stage. This is because
apt-listbugs is waiting for input. If the user expands the ``details''
control, to get access to the mini-terminal, they can authorise
apt-listbugs to continue the installation and it proceeds as expected.

Though it affects few people I'm sure, it would be good if this stage
could be recognised and maybe the question asked in the GUI as opposed
to the terminal.

Thanks for your time!
