Bug#422492: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice: line 361: 10608 Segmentation fault

2007-05-06 Thread Nicolas STRANSKY
Hi,

I am having the same bug, OOo doesn't start anymore. It fails with the
following error:

/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice: line 361: 10559 Segmentation fault
 $sd_prog/$sd_binary $@

** (process:10543): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary /
abnormal early exit ...

All packages are 2.2.0.6.
Attached is the full strace when starting oowriter.

Best regards,

Which graphics driver do you use? Nvidia proprietary? (The strace
log seems to imply that?) Can you try with OPENGL_SUPPORT=yes set to no?
(and maybe auto, for that matter, but on systems with nvidias/ATIs
driver it probably will make it enabled)
(Create a /etc/openoffice/soffice.sh for that if you want that preerved)

And please try to use the normal nvidia driver, too And try yes, no,
auto, too.

(Same applies to ATIs drivers)

Yes I am, but unfortunately I can't use the free driver.

Where should I put OPENGL_SUPPORT=yes ? As an environment variable ? If
so, I have tried that and it fails with the same error (with yes, no or
auto)

I confirm oowriter works when /etc/openoffice/soffice.sh contains
OPENGL_SUPPORT=no.

I will try ASAP with free nv driver but for now I can't quit X.

Many thanks.
