Bug#430155: ipv6 mirror list

2007-06-23 Thread Bjoern Boschman

Hi,

as far as I know not all CC mirrors support IPv6.
I also do not believe that this is gonna be the case in near future.
It's also not yet practicable to define v6 connectivity as a mandatory
requirement for CC mirrors.

I recently updated my list [1] which is unfortunatelly not
representive. You can download the script I've written to generate that
list from here:

Cheers

Bug#430155: ipv6 mirror list

2007-06-22 Thread MJ Ray
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: minor

If all hosts in a class (say the ftp.CC.debian.org ones) support ipv6,
that should be recorded on the mirrors page. Otherwise, maybe it is a
good idea to include ipv6 and ipv4 markers as suggested. Here is the
suggestion email to debian-www that I saw:

currently the mirror list [0] doesn't show up which host could be
 reached via IPv6.
As IPv6 is one of the release goals for etch I would propose to update
 this list.

I collected all given hostnames and attacked my nameserver with
queries. The result with FQDNs which already have an IPv6 association
can be found on my server [1].
Additionally I like to ask if you may introduce an additional hostname
schema? Something like [service; e.g. ftp.de.].ipv6.debian.org
