Bug#434053: twinkle: freezes after call termination
Marc Haber skrev: > I just did a few calls, incoming and outgoing, and didn't see twinkle > crashing. I didn't have any crashes today either, made a dozen of calls. I'm beginning to think I made a mistake about the version, because it used to crash quite often, though not every time. Will give it a few more days. I just did a few calls, incoming and outgoing, and didn't see twinkle crashing. All calls were connected bi-directional just as they should be. I hope it'll stay that way. Faidon Liambotis wrote: Marcus, you raised the severity to RC and marked the bug as found on 1:1.2-1 but didn't explain why. Sorry, should have discussed it first. I confirmed the bug on that version too, and I get it on every second call or so. Since others seem to experience this too, it really doesn't seem fit for release. There is really no reason to add another broken VoIP client in addition to the other half-baked SIP products we have (like Wengo which also crashes constantly). Can we get something based on Telepathy already please? That said, feel free to lower severity. And it would be nice to have Twinkle working, it's the only KDE-based alternative at the moment. Bug#434053: twinkle: freezes after call termination
Marc, hi, Marc Haber wrote: I get an incoming call. THe call is established, but I cannot hear the caller and the caller cannot hear me. This _might_ be caused by my broken home router which does not NAT correctly (the ISP claims that VoIP is not supported on what they call "Internet Access", and I cannot exchange the router for something else). However, when that "call" terminates, twinkle freezes. The Clock on the right side of the "Line 1" panel simply stops, the detail display still says "Call established", and twinkle does not react to anything. I only can click on the "Close Window" button and tell kwin to terminate the app. We got a report from a user that was facing a very similar problem -if not the same- that the bug is fixed in the current version of twinkle. According to that user, Jim Thomas, the fix may be related to a KDE upgrade -- perhaps it was not a twinkle bug in the first place. I'm not pretending to maintain twinkle (I don't) but none of the other members of the VoIP team have said anything about experiencing this bug, so I'd love your feedback on this! Marcus, you raised the severity to RC and marked the bug as found on 1:1.2-1 but didn't explain why. Are you experiencing this bug or are you marking it based on previous reports? Mikael, you did all the changes in the last upload. Mark Purcell who was maintaining this package inside the VoIP team is MIA for some time due to personal reasons and I haven't even used twinkle, ever! Can you handle this please? If not, can someone else from the team step up and maintain twinkle? This is a quite popular package, we shouldn't pretend to maintain it if we really are not. If noone steps up in a week or so, I'll file an RFH or even O bug. [forgive my rants, but I just read that twinkle will be removed from testing in the next britney run] Thanks, Faidon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#434053: twinkle: freezes after call termination
Package: twinkle Version: 1:1.0.1-1 Severity: normal Hi, I get an incoming call. Greetings Marc -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.5-scyw00225 (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages twinkle depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1 core libraries and binaries for al ii libasound2 1.0.14a-2ALSA library ii libboost-regex1.34.01.34.0-1+b1 regular expression library for C++ ii libc6 2.6-2GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libccrtp1-1.5-1 1.5.1-1 Common C++ class framework for RTP ii libcommoncpp2-1.5.3-0 1.5.6-3 A GNU package for creating portabl ii libgcc1 1:4.2-20070712-1 GCC support library ii libgcrypt11 1.2.4-2 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libgnutls13 1.6.3-1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libgsm1 1.0.10-13Shared libraries for GSM speech co ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.7-5Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsndfile1 1.0.17-3 Library for reading/writing audio ii libspeex1 1.1.12-3 The Speex Speech Codec ii libstdc++6 4.2-20070712-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.0.3-7X11 client-side library ii libxext61:1.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libzrtpcpp-0.9-00.9.0-5 ccrtp extension for zrtp/Zfone sup ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-5 compression library - runtime twinkle recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
