However, I do not recall to suffer from it recently. So you can close this bug. I will reopen it if I observe it again. Bug#434482: icedove hides some mails from an IMAP INBOX
Hello Vincent, long time ago you opened a bug. ;) To reduce the huge amount of the open bugs on icedove I would like to ask you if the behavior is still around you described? There several new versions between your bug report and now. I belive the bug is propably gone away or was maybe affected with the dovecot configuration or a bug inside there. Or something else. O.k. can give some feedback to whats happen in the bewteen times? Hopefully the bug can be closed. Bug#434482: icedove hides some mails from an IMAP INBOX
Package: icedove Version: 2.0.0.4.dfsg1-1 Severity: important On my system, my mails fetch with fetchmail and stored in IMAP folders managed with dovecot (mails stored in Maildir format). Then all my mail client read/manage my mails throught IMAP. I just see that Icedove hides some mails : I cannot see them with the plain view nor with the 'recent Mails' view, I do not understand why. I'm not sure if this is related, but I just try to play with View Folders yesterday. I can see these mails with other clients (mutt, webmail (horde), ...) Nearly all my incomming mail is duplicated in another folder (to save me when I hit the 'delete' button to fast). With Icedoce, I copy one of these hidden mails from this duplicate folder (in this folder, I can see theses mails) to my Inbox. The copied mail still does not appair in the Inbox ! However, with mutt or webmail, I can see now two copy of this mail (ie the first 'hidden' one and the copy I just do) I do not understand what happens. I set the severity to important because I will need to switch to another mail client until this bug is fixed (or a workaround found) : can't not see some random mails ! I do not know what to do to help you more. My Inbox is rather big with private/corporation stuff so I cannot make it available. And I do not know why some mails disapair (are 'hidden') and not others. Any hints to this problem would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Vincent PS: From tomorrow, I will be without any internet connection during 10 days -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages icedove depends on: ii debianutils 2.22.1 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii fontconfig 2.4.2-1.2generic font configuration library ii libatk1.0-0 1.18.0-2 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.6-2GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.4.10-1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfontconfig1 2.4.2-1.2generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.2.1-0GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.12.13-1The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.10.13-1The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libhunspell-1.1-0 1.1.6-1 spell checker and morphological an ii libjpeg62 6b-13The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libnspr4-0d 4.6.7-1 NetScape Portable Runtime Library ii libnss3-0d 3.11.7-1 Network Security Service libraries ii libpango1.0-0 1.16.4-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.15~beta5-2 PNG library - runtime ii libstdc++6 4.2.1-0 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.0.3-7X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.8-2X cursor management library ii libxext61:1.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxfixes3 1:4.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous 'fixes' extensio ii libxft2 2.1.12-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.1-1X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama11:1.0.2-1X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.2.1-1X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.2-1X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii psmisc 22.5-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-5 compression library - runtime icedove recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
