I'm sorry I am not DD myself, but you're right. My sponsor is in the CC:
of this E-Mail.

Giacomo: I know the packages are new, but would you mind having a look
at it? It's scientific software, and our Physics people also need the
software.

Any package available from Debian helps us a lot.

I don't have much time, anyway I could act as "semi-sponsor":
you will check that the package has Debian quality (and follow
debian policies). I'll do only the last check and upload to debian.

Anyway there is also a debian-science group (I will join soon this group).

I see that you maintain "lie", together with Kasper Peeters.
Did you contact him about cadabra/modglue?

Yes I talked with him about it, but I had troubles packaging modglue.

There is an ITP bug about cadabra. To get it into Debian the changelog
should be empty aside this entry:

  * Initial release. (Closes: #434489)

Hello

I just found about your Debian packages at the url in the subject.
Wouldn't you like to maintain cadabra/modglue officially for Debian?

In the 'archived' section (it did not get accepted yet because ubuntu
is in feature freeze for the next release right now).

2009-03-04 Thread Gürkan Sengün

Hello Kasper

I have meanwhile submitted packages for both modglue and cadabra to
the Ubuntu REVU site for approval. They are not yet through though,
and sit in a dormant state (it's incredibly hard to find sponsorship
for scientific software, I have to say). But if you are interested in
pushing the packaging for Debian, it is probably best to start from
those Ubuntu packages.

See http://revu.ubuntuwire.com for more details.

Thanks, I was able to find cadabra there, but where do you have the
modglue debian source packages?

Let me know what you plan to do (I have more or less given up on ever
getting this into an official Debian repository).

If nobody wants to maintain it inside Debian I would, but perferably
I would like someone else to do it.

Yours,
Guerkan
