Bug#435087: tvbrowser crashes when starting up in KDE

2007-07-29 Thread Hans
Package: tvbrowser
Version: 2.2-5
Severity: normal

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 4.0
  APT prefers unstable
APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-1-k7
Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15)

Versions of packages tvbrowser depends on:
ii sun-j2re1.5 1.5.0+update07 Java(TM) 2 RE, Standard Edition, S

tvbrowser recommends no packages.

-- no debconf information
When starting up tvbrowser, it hangs and KDE hangs, too. The frame around
tvbrowser with the pulldown menus disappears. It is not possible to change
into another virtual desktop in KDE nor kill tvbrowser with STRG-ALT-ESC.
This error appears not everytime, but quite often (about 70 percent of the
starts)

As it is java-orientated: Which java should be preferred for tvbrowser ?
Blackdown ? Sun ?

If you do need some more information, feel free to email me.

Thanks for your work anyway !!!

Best regards

Hans
