Bug#443915: lilypond-doc probably should be split
As of version 2.14.2-2 the package is 720 MB unpackaged (packaged: 251 MB). Some crude counts: * Nine languages have about 1.450 HTML files: cs, de, es, fr, hu, it, ja, nl and zh * A couple of PDFs are available for de, es, fr, hu and it * The unpackaged size of these localised files ranges between 40 and 90 MB per language * The English documention *plus* common snippets, images et cetera come together at 190 MB unpackaged * Nothing else but HTML and PDF files seems to be localized (*only* considering the file names) The translations are growing and so is the size of the package. > Well, actually 33 MB. and now 233 Mb for version 2.12.2-0.1 Perhaps the package should be split into a base package and multiple translation packages. But I agree with your point and will look into it. Thomas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#443915: lilypond-doc probably should be split
Package: lilypond-doc Version: 2.10.29-1 Severity: wishlist Hello, Recent lilypond releases have seen a huge increase in the size of the lilypond-doc package, due to the inclusion of html documentation. While I find it great to be able to browse lilypond's documentation with any www browser, I find that the price to pay for that is slightly too big (80MB !!). Could you split lilypond-doc into at least two packages, so that poor users with a limited bandwidth don't have to wait hours to get lilypond's info pages ?
