Bug#444034: Subject: /usr/bin/pdftex: index formatting broken
Dear Ralph, Norbert, I prepared a sample of the text for you guys today, compiled it, it worked. (!) Went back to the main bookk text, compiled it again, it worked. (!!) I am pleased to say (since it involves no work on your parts) that I seem to have been making some sort of systematic error in the compilation process which I have not been able to recreate. (Have just spent half an hour trying to get it to do it again - no joy.) If I find out that there is something, I will be in touch again, but please close the bug and accept my apologies and thanks for your trouble. Bug#444034: Subject: /usr/bin/pdftex: index formatting broken
Package: texlive-base-bin Version: 2007-14 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/pdftex *** Please type your report below this line *** When running makeindex, formatted entries for the index (emphasised in this case) that previously compiled correctly now print in the index with the formatting code instead. As an example, [EMAIL PROTECTED] now produces an index entry that says [EMAIL PROTECTED], rather than an italicised version of the word Odyssey. If this is just something that now needs to be protected in some way, it would be useful to know, but it is a definite change in behaviour from all previous versions (and is stopping me from completing my book). With best wishes, Adam Bartley -- Package-specific info: If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries (latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures! If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem), you can probably minimize it further. Hi Adam, please keep the bug report on Cc, thanks.
