Bug#444433: xserver-xorg-video-intel: Xinerama and Dualhead won't work with new intel driver (old i810 worked)

The server just dies with a backtrace in the log file. This bug corresponds to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10299 in the upstream BTS. This one is NOT going to ever be fixed, just forget about it. What might be fixed one day is RandR support for multiple boards (!= multiple displays), and that's what you seemed to be talking about earlier, that's what #443274 is about. Bug#444433: xserver-xorg-video-intel: Xinerama and Dualhead won't work with new intel driver (old i810 worked)
Hi, RandR 1.2 is not a sufficent replacement for Xinerama. I need dualhead with 2 graphics cards, which is is not possible with RandR 1.2. It is a planned feature of RandR 1.3 AFAIK. And from my understanding, even if RandR 1.3 is supported by the Intel driver in the future, it requires the other card's driver to also support RandR 1.3. As long as this isn't implemented, Xinerama is still the only way to get dual head using more than one card. Regards, Tino -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. (look in /var/log/dpkg.log or /var/log/aptitude) I used unstable but because of this problem (and haven't enough time to look on it) i used a very long time the old driver (set xorg on hold).
