Bug#446476: [texhax] Bug#446476: natbib cannot handle utf8
Hi Norbert It is indeed a TeXlive recommendation and it is not clear where they get their advice from. Our problem is that so closely connecting latex and recommended suggests this may be our classification. This does not imply that we think that ucs.sty is wrongly classified; merely that the Project Team does not necessarily have any input into this -latex-recommended list. Hi Chris, On Sa, 13 Okt 2007, Chris Rowley wrote: > > So this is starting to look like a bug in > > ucs.sty/texlive-latex-recommended then? > > Recomended by whom? I guess here is a small misunderstanding, the ucs.sty is contained in the TeX Live collection "collection-latexrecommend", which transfers into a Debian package "texlive-latex-recommended". I don't know how ucs.sty ended up there, the decision on what is "recommended" and what "extra" is quite difficult to carry out. If you think that it is completely wrong please let us know on [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Cc-ed). The bug is there if I use ucs.sty and it goes away when I switch from utf8x inputenc to utf8 and remove ucs.sty, or when i leave ucs.sty in and use utf8,utf8x as argument to the inputenc package.
