I don't understand this because if you ignore the comments this is what
the config file actually says.  Did I missed something?


See gnumed-client.conf.example in the original source tgz.


Can't see the difference.

On the machine (stable + gnumed from testing) I noticed this
/etc/gnumed/gnumed-client.conf was  real file, not a symlink
to /etc/gnumed/gnumed-public.conf as it should be (and is,
on another machine).

The gnumed_v6 - gnumed_v7 issue remains, though. It should
be updated in /etc/gnumed/gnumed-public.conf.

So, I guess the bug is not a bug.
