It would add a headache to sync the manual pages with erlang-manpages
on any new erlang release since they come in a separate source
package. I would like to keep these stub manual pages with links to
real ones.

You could at least split those five into erlang-base-manpages (generated
from erlang-manpages source package), and then make erlang-base depend on
erlang-base-manpages.
