The package should work on X, just try without the -nographic
argument.

No good either:

$ qemu -m 128 -cdrom KNOPPIX_V5.1.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.iso -boot d
Segmentation fault

The problem is that qemu builds, but doesn't work on sparc. Anyway I
also think the severity important is the correct one, as it has actually
never worked before.

There is no QEMU 0.8 for Sparc. The support for QEMU on Sparc is very
young, that's why it doesn't work very well yet.

qemu is exiting with a Segmentation fault error immediately after
passing it valid invokation arguments. Please find a cut and paste of
the problem below:

# qemu -m 128 -cdrom KNOPPIX_V5.1.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.iso -boot d -nographic

Could you retry with qemu 0.8 from etch?

I can confirm, as Aurelien Jarno has stated, that there is no sparc
version of qemu in etch.

I will try to build from CVS (already tried once, but had build
problems) and raise issues with qemu-devel list if I continue to have them.

Of course, this bug has a separate life to all that.

Shaddy

Could not configure '/dev/rtc' to have a 1024 Hz timer. This is not a fatal
error, but for better emulation accuracy either use a 2.6 host Linux
kernel or

type 'echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq' as root.
Segmentation fault

Note, I have not as yet tried to invoke to display on an X display
