The support for QEMU on Sparc is very young, that's why it doesn't work very well yet. I can confirm, as Aurelien Jarno has stated, that there is no sparc version of qemu in etch. I will try to build from CVS (already tried once, but had build problems) and raise issues with qemu-devel list if I continue to have them. Of course, this bug has a separate life to all that.
