Bug#465498: virt-manager: Need to ask twice to open dialogs or windows

2008-07-25 Thread Paul Collins
I just encountered a problem using virt-manager with evilwm that I think
may be a variant of this problem.

When I tried to create a new VM, the dialog window appeared at the top
left of the screen without a border and was visible on all workspaces.

Checking it out with xwininfo and xprop, I noticed the following:

  $ xprop WM_STATE  # click on window
  WM_STATE(WM_STATE):
  window state: Withdrawn
  icon window: 0x0

When I cancel the dialog and invoke the "New" command again, the window
appears with a border and WM_STATE is correct:

  $ xprop WM_STATE  # click on window
  WM_STATE(WM_STATE):
  window state: Normal
  icon window: 0x0

Hi !

This works fine with fluxbox. It does not work with fvwm on two of my
stations, even with the vanilla config file (fvwm -f /dev/null). I don't
have a clue where to look for.

There is nothing in .virt-manager/virt-manager.log:
[jeu, 14 fév 2008 20:53:59 virt-manager 11426] INFO (virt-manager:126)
Application startup
[jeu, 14 fév 2008 20:53:59 virt-manager 11427] DEBUG (engine:74) About to
connect to uris ['qemu:///session']

Thanks.

I've seen virt-manager running under xfce, gnome and kde without
problems. Is there anything interesting in
.virt-manager/virt-manager.log?

2008-02-12 Thread Vincent Bernat
Package: virt-manager
Version: 0.5.3-2
Severity: minor

Hi !

Another problem with virt-manager is that I need to open windows
twice. Here are the step :
 - I start virt-manager
 - I get the main window
 - I click on localhost then on Details
 - A window appears and disappears
 - I click again, I get the window
 - File menu, open a connection
 - A window appears and disappears
 - Again, I get the window
 - Edition, Preferences, a window appears and disappears
 - Again, nothing happens !

I am using fvwm as window manager.

Thanks.
