Bug#470595: (fwd) Bug#470595: geometry package doesn't work with cslatex

2008-04-08 Thread Hilmar Preusse
Dear Petr,

from http://math.feld.cvut.cz/olsak/ I'd deduce you're the actual
maintainer of cslatex.

Down here in the Debian Bug Tracking system we got a report that the
following minimal example loading the geometry package does not work
with cslatex:

\listfiles
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{geometry}
\begin{document}
\end{document}

The error message is:

(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/xelatex/xetexconfig/geometry.cfg))
(./test.aux)
! Undefined control sequence.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ...fined \else \ifnum \pdfoutput
  [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL
PROTECTED] {pdfte...

I could get rid of the error message by removing the lines defining
\pdfoutput from cslatex.ini and rebuilding the format file, however
I'm completely unsure if this is the correct fix.

I'm pretty sure this is a problem in cslatex, but not in the geometry
package. Please be so kind to have a look at that and keep the bug
[EMAIL PROTECTED] in Cc, when answering.

Regards,
  Hilmar

When trying to compile a document using geometry package with cslatex,
it fails, saying that \begin{document} wasn't def'ed. I'm attaching a
patch, proposed by Petr Olsak here -
http://usenet.jyxo.cz/cz.comp.cstex/0704/problem-s-balickem-geometry-pri-prekladu-cslatexem.html
It seems to fix the problem, but I'm not skilled enough with Latex to
tell if it doesn't break anything else.
