Bug#471252: wl: WL hangs trying to display large messages
On March 25, 2008 at 9:13AM +1100, peterc (at gelato.unsw.edu.au) wrote: Ocassionally when trying to read a large message, after downloading it from the IMAP4 server, xemacs hangs. top shows it taking no CPU time. If I interrupt whatever it thinks it's doing with control-G, wl displays the message last shown, but puts it into the cache as if it were the failed-to-display message. Subsequently restarting wl then shows the same (wrong) message in the slot, unless I manually throw away the cache. I'm not sure where teh problem is: in wl, elmo, flim, semi, or what. Tatsuya Hmm, could you please try the wl-beta package? It still happens with wl-beta, but not quite as often. Thanks for the report. It would be nice if you tell the procedure to reproduce the problem. Anyway, I'll forward this bug to the upstream. Thanks, -- Tatsuya Kinoshita pgp8FdFWXD0YP.pgp Description: PGP signature

It would be nice if you tell the Tatsuya procedure to reproduce the problem. There is no `procedure'. I'm going along, reading emails, and then there's a large one (maybe it has some mime attachments or something ... usually PDFs) and wl hangs. Is there any way to get a lisp backtrace from a hung xemacs? -- Dr Peter Chubb http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au peterc AT gelato.unsw.edu.au http://www.ertos.nicta.com.au ERTOS within National ICT Australia -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
