tags 476764 - unreproducible retitle 476764 huge reported diff makes mutt segfault thanks Hi, Dennis Hoppe wrote (27 May 2008 21:14:16 GMT) : i have had the same problem at one of my hosts and was able to reproduce the error above. Thanks! Sorry for the delay. Metche follows the symlinks at /etc/postgresql/8.2/main and try to report every difference via email. But one of my colleagues has disabled the cron job, two months ago. The consequence is a 2.1 GB large file at /root/sent which could not be handled by mutt. This would probably deserve adding these links to the default EXCLUDES list, but let's first have a look to were the affected PostgreSQL versions can be found. Looking at the PostgreSQL installations I have, I could find such links in an old Etch's 7.4, but not in the current 8.4 found in testing. The 8.2 package you were talking of are not part of Debian anymore. The remaining questions are then: 1. Has Lenny's PostgreSQL 8.3 these symlinks? 2. Has Squeeze's PostgreSQL 8.3 these symlinks? If only etch is affected, I'm not sure we {would, could} upload an updated metche package there. If neither Lenny nor Squeeze are affected, I guess we could close this bug report. retitle 476764 check size of report before piping it into the mailer severity 476764 wishlist tags 476764 - moreinfo thanks Hi, intrigeri wrote (01 Dec 2009 12:19:09 GMT) : 1. Has Lenny's PostgreSQL 8.3 these symlinks? No. 2. Has Squeeze's PostgreSQL 8.3 these symlinks? No. ... so it seems no PostgreSQL that is currently installable in Debian stable exhibits these symlinks = making this bug a wishlist one asking to implement the suggested size check. bye, -- intrigeri intrig...@boum.org | GnuPG key @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/intrigeri.asc | OTR fingerprint @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/otr-fingerprint.asc | Then we'll come from the shadows. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#476764: metche: Segmentation fault in line 76
Hello Jérémy, i have had the same problem at one of my hosts and was able to reproduce the error above. Metche follows the symlinks at /etc/postgresql/8.2/main and try to report every difference via email. But one of my colleagues has disabled the cron job, two months ago. The consequence is a 2.1 GB large file at /root/sent which could not be handled by mutt. I tried to set a new stable state by running /usr/sbin/metche stabilize, but nothing happened. So i moved the files at /var/lib/metche and executed /usr/sbin/metche cron. Now everything seems to be fine, but maybe you should realize something like a size check.
