Bug#491656: lock-on keys when using xorg
Dmitry E. Oboukhov (31/01/2011): > Cyril, this bug is too old and it has been being reproduced for more > than four years. Could You forward it to upstream? 1. Thanks for the follow-ups and the tests. 2. Nobody stops you from going upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org// 3. Submitters know how to produce/reproduce the bug easily, while I've still to try for myself. 4. I have litterally 150+ packages to take care of, and several hundreds bugs to triage. Trying to figure out which are still valid is a first step. Thanks for your patience, and for your understanding. KiBi. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Because of Your request I've raised this subj in debian-russian again. This time many people say that this bug hasn't been removed, but it's been modified a little. Now many users complain against “sticking” of the control keys. For example from time to time it seems that Ctrl or Shift is pressed constantly. When pressing any control key again, then system operation recovers. Once and again I' ve observed spontaneous switching of CapsLock mode on two hosts (people also write about it in debian-russian Mail List). I attach here configs and logs, but I'm not sure they can be of any help :( PS: unfortunately I haven't had an opportunity of testing the package version from experimental yet. -- ... mpd is off . Bug#491656: lock-on keys when using xorg
Package: xserver-xorg Severity: normal Tags: l10n I use Xorg adapted to the 2 languages: russian and english. Command line setxkbmap is: setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout "us,ru" -option -option \ "grp:caps_toggle,grp:switch,grp_led:scroll, compose:lwin" right alt uses for temporary switch over keyboard layouts. Sometimes right alt swithching causes key sealing. For example, if we press alt-comma, comma is autocycling. autocycling will continue until we press any key. I note of this bug in many hostes since Xorg appears in Debian. Discussion of this issue in debian-russian@ mailing list showes that this bug is commonly encountered. I've noted of this bug in many hosts since xorg has appeared in Debian (X of woody works fine :)). -- ... mpd is off . ''`. Dmitry E.
