Bug#493582: python-ooolib: ooolib-python doesn't handle in formula

2008-08-03 Thread Leopold Palomo Avellaneda
Package: python-ooolib
Version: 0.0.13-1
Severity: normal

Dear people,

the python-ooolib (ooolib-python) in debian has a problem with formulas like
this:

doc.set_cell_value(3, 6, 'formula', '=IF((A5A4);A4;)')

The is the important part. The lib fails creating the ods file.

I sent an email to upstream and kindly he solved the bug in a new version,
0.0.16. We have in debian an old version ;-) (0.0.13). Looking on the
changelog file of upstream there has been changes since 0.0.13. In my case,
as co-maintainer of bulmages, it solves a problem that we have in a plugin.
Also, we are the only package that depend on python-ooolib.

So, seeing that the package is small and lenny is near, please, could you
update python-ooolib to the new version?.

Best regards,

Leo

PS I have added as CC to upstream.

Bug#493582: python-ooolib: ooolib-python doesn't handle in formula

2008-08-03 Thread Rene Engelhard
Hi,

So, seeing that the package is small and lenny is near, please, could you
update python-ooolib to the new version?.

I could, but I fear I won't be able to convince the RMs to allow a new upstream
version into lenny, especially only for a normal bug. We are already in the
full freeze.

Regards,

Rene

No, you didn't :)

 ooolib-python-0.0.15 (July 3, 2008)
 - Handle more internal cell data types - Joseph Colton
 - Handle non-ascii characters better - Joseph Colton
 - Non-ascii support tests - Chris Ender

Sounds like hughe changes. Not suitable when you are in a soft
freeze/freeze.

 ooolib-python-0.0.14 (June 25, 2008)
 - Handle repeated columns better - Joseph Colton
 - Experiments working with UTF-8 - Joseph Colton

Experiments didn't sound to promising, so I didn't upload that.

 ooolib-python-0.0.13 (May 13, 2008)
 - Added Calc content data loading - Joseph Colton
 - Added various get functions - Joseph Colton

That one's in Debian.

Rene

Ah, X-Debbugs-CC, didn't look at the full headers..

I just mistyped the bugnr in the changelog so the bug didn't get
automatically closed on the upload. Thus I needed to close it manally.

Rene
