Bug#495866: hwinfo: library packages are needlessly not co-installable

Please check the generated packages, some were empty. regards, guillem -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've not checked libhd13 nor libhd12, but my guess would be that those didn't have overlapping files. So please remove those wrong Conflicts, Provides and Replaces from the library. For any reason you think must be co-installable? As I know, that libraries are used only for hwinfo. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Yes, first there's nothing technically preventing them to be co-installable, and second even if in Debian right now there's nothing using the library except for hwinfo it makes it difficult in general for future packages or current private developers, which would not be able to keep a working copy of a privately built app against the old library and try to port it to the new library at the same time. Ok, you can see a new revision at mentors: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/h/hwinfo/hwinfo_15.3-2.dsc Thanks for your comments Regards! For the -doc package, please rename the doc-base file (matching the library name be good) so that they can be co-installed. And for the -dev packages the best option would be to rename the package to libhd-dev. Yes I agree, I'm working in the new revision Good! regards, guillem -- William Vera [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP Key: 1024D/F5CC22A4 Fingerprint: 3E73 FA1F 5C57 6005 0439 4D75 1FD2 BF96 F5CC 22A4 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Actually, I guess in this case the -doc should match the -dev, so either rename both to libhd-doc and libhd-dev, or keep them matching the soname, but in the latter case make them co-installable (but I don't see any reason for having the -doc and -dev packages versioned). thanks, guillem -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
