Any news?

Hi!

Sorry for my previous email, I have managed to skipped your reply…

Good. :)

I select Manual partitioning, and then I get a blank screen for a split
second (with some one-line warning/error message that I don't have time
 to read!),
and then a screen with 'Starting up the partitioner', and a progress bar
 stuck at 52%.

This is #496093 [1] which should be fixed in a newer daily build. This
bug was triggered by a too large number of different partitions in the
main partitioning screen, so it looks like the detection is working
properly

Are you willing to make another try? I would be happy to know that this
is really solved.

If I boot in expert install mode, after pressing Manual partitioning I
get back to the screen where I can select what step to run.
It looks like the partition manager has quit with some error, however
neither /var/log/syslog, /var/log/partman, or dmesg show what the error is.
Luckily /dev/md3 was up, so I mounted it, and copied the logs there, see
the attachment (inst.tar.gz).

Any idea what is going on?

I installed Debian lenny successfully using the beta2 installer.
However the installer didn't support raid10, and I already created
a raid10 array (using Debian sid from an old HDD), and a raid1 array.

I installed on the raid1, and then copied /usr, /var over to the raid10 after
rebooting.

The current development version (daily builds) of the debian-installer
support RAID 10. It should automatically detect your previous RAID 10
partitions when starting the partitioner.

Could you give it a try? You don't actually have to proceed further
than the main partioning screen.
