Actually, it does make a sound, just very quietly. Almost inaudible on
my laptop.

the sound file toggled.wav in /usr/share/sounds/gtk-events
doesn't make a sound when I play it.

The version in the old gnome-audio 2.0.0.2 (which is in Lenny) works fine.
