Using the keyboard freezes the mouse. It can move again after ~1sec
after the last key is released.
Pressing the ALT key gives another behavior: mouse cursor is frozen and
all Z movements are handled as wheel events ?!

Could it be that you have some kind of daemon running which is supposed
to prevent spurious trackpad input while typing and which allows
simulating wheel events with a trackpad while the alt key is pressed?

Hi,

I can't say no as I did not check very deep. But I'm working on a
desktop computer, not a laptop. I never installed anything related to
trackpads as I don't have any :)

another check
Ok, sorry ! Not a real bug... I don't know why, but the 'mouseemu'
daemon was running. I'm pretty sure I never ask its installation, maybe
it got installed by error...

Problem solved ! Thanks *very* much, I was planning on a reinstallation
after several faillure on fixing it...

Cheers,
Marc

Can you still reproduce the problem with latest packages?
If so, could you upgrade your X packages to experimental?

Hello,

I still have the bug with latest packages. I'll try to use experimental
packages, but I'll need time as I can't afford to break my system this
week :)
