Hi Samuel, can you please re-check with the current version in lenny,
sid, or experimental, and after doing 'apt-get update apt-get
upgrade' (or similar)? This reather sounds like a problem specific to
your system, and not in the packages.

Sorry for the delay, this ended up in my spam bin and I only found it
because I happened across it on the web interface. (This being the
second old email from the Debian BTS I've found in my spambin in the
past week, I've now added an exclusion to my filters.)

It does seem to work now, with:

-- System Information:
Debian Release: lenny/sid
  APT prefers testing
APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental')
Architecture: i386 (i686)

Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash

Versions of packages git-svn depends on:
ii git-core1:1.5.6.5-3 fast, scalable, distributed revisi
ii libsvn-perl [libsvn-core-pe 1.5.1dfsg1-1 Perl bindings for Subversion
ii libterm-readkey-perl2.30-4 A perl module for simple terminal
