When I try to view the User Guide, I do indeed now see errors in the
error box:
LaTex error: command \DH unavailable in encoding OT1
followed by three more such errors, with \dh, \TH and \th
In the description pane (for \DH):

Type I command return to replace it with another command,
or return to continue without it.
For \dh:

I've read a comment in the Ubuntu bugtracker that the default installation doesn't provide all packages needed to compile the UserGuide a few days ago. I'll be glad to try adding some texlive packages. I tried texlive-extra-utils, but the problem remains. All the remaining texlive is 400MB of downloads, and more than 800MB on disk, so I'd rather not do that. Any suggestions? I also note that I'm seeing the problem now even though only one tmpbuf is being created.
