Bug#513424: libqt4-ruby1.8: Conflicts with package libqt0-ruby1.8 because of using the same file path

2009-01-29 Thread Vincent Fourmond

  Hello,

 Severity: normal

That should be «serious» if it were in unstable/testing, but we'll
leave it like that for now, as it only concerns experimental.

Both libqt0-ruby1.8 and libqt4-ruby1.8 contain the same file:

 Unpacking libqt4-ruby1.8 (from .../libqt4-ruby1.8_4%3a4.2.0-1_amd64.deb) ...
 dpkg: error processing
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libqt4-ruby1.8_4%3a4.2.0-1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/Qt.rb', which is also in package
 libqt0-ruby1.8
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
 Errors were encountered while processing:
  /var/cache/apt/archives/libqt4-ruby1.8_4%3a4.2.0-1_amd64.deb
 E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Good point... I had fixed that in testing/unstable libqt4-ruby, but I
completely forgot to port that patch when switching to the kdebindings
source package.

I'll have a look into that.

  Cheers,

Vincent

Manually removing the older library and it's one dependency resolved the
problem.
