I have tested the following kernels on 2xXeon QuadCore , 8 cores total ;)

 1)
 http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net/debian-kernel/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/linux-image-2.6.26-1-openvz-amd64_2.6.26-14~snapshot.13191_amd64.deb

NFS in the ve does not work:
 mount: unknown filesystem type 'nfs'
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=501985

 2)
 http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net/debian-kernel/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/linux-image-2.6.26-1-openvz-
 amd64_2.6.26-13lenny2~snapshot.13070_amd64.deb

broken with kernel oops and panic.#514149

 3)

this kernel seems to work fine. with 8 cores and nfs and all...

yes this is the latest one and targeted for lenny.

thanks for the testing! :)

Bug#514149: #514149: will it be fixed in 5.0.1?

2009-03-23 Thread kurt kuene
hello
2.6.26-1-openvz ooopses and dies
will it really be fixed in 5.0.1?

because here I do not see that it will be fixed:
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases/PointReleases/5.0.1

the fixed kernel should be here I think:
http://people.debian.org/~dannf/bugs/500876/

does anybody know for shure? this is quite important to me. my 8 core machines
really need a working kernel with security support.

greetings and
many thanks
kurt kuene
