Bug#522803: DSBL is gone

2010-01-08 Thread Al Nikolov
So, for now, the default original service is gone completely as well as the
upstream source.

But as you already found you could easily configure it to target another
(probably your own) dsbl-like service.

For the free software spirit's sake i tend to keep this package in the place
correcting the description and getting rid of deprecated defaults

Bug#522803: DSBL is GONE

2009-04-06 Thread Andrew Buckeridge
Package: dsbltesters
Version: 0.9.5-3

http://www.dsbl.org/

DSBL is GONE and highly unlikely to return. Please remove it from your
 mail server configuration.

The relay target lis...@dsbl.org is still hard coded.

When I try to connect to SMTP I get: -

** 421 shelob.surriel.com: Too many concurrent SMTP connections; please try
 again later
  - QUIT

So new info is not being collected.

This was very effective until dsbl.org broke. Now that the database is
empty and not being maintained it is not much use. Is it going to be
used for a new database later?

I was very tempted to do

# Clinet Variables ##
# Username and domain to send as (bounces will go here)
#sender_user=listme
#sender_domain=dsbl.org

but didn't.

This could catch backscatter where message body with relay test
signature is relayed, but that was not what was intended. This
could however be a new feature if dsbltesters is revived.
