Opening a gtk application with kdesudo (for instance synaptic) in KDE4
causes that gtk application to do not apply gtk-qt-engine theme
configuration. The cause of this is that kdesudo looks for a
/root/.gtkrc-2.0 configuration file, while gtk-qt-engine really creates a
/root/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 configuration file, if you rename
/root/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 to /root/.gtkrc-2.0, kdesudo starts to theme gtk

Hi Rafael, and thanks for having reported this bug !

As I can't find any reference to 'gtk' in kdesudo source, I must say that I
think this bug is either in gtk-qt-engine-kde4 or in sudo, with a preference on
gtk-qt-engine-kde4, so reassigning…

By the way, do you have gtk-qt-engine-kde4 or gtk-qt-engine installed ? (Or
both ?)

Best regards,

OdyX

The same bug happens for sudo, so I think the bug is in sudo package.

Hi,

sorry to disagree with you, but there is absolutely no mention of gtk in the
whole sudo source, which makes it even clearer (at least IMHO) that this is a
bug in gtk-qt-engine{-kde4}.

By the way, you did not answer :

By the way, do you have gtk-qt-engine-kde4 or gtk-qt-engine installed ? (Or
 both ?)

You can test this with :

$ LANG=C dpkg -l 'gtk-qt-engine*'
