This happens when util-linux 2.12r-19 (the one from Etch) is
present. When upgrading util-linux to 2.15.1~rc1-1 the problem
doesn't seem to exist anymore (and AFAICS the same applies to
2.13.1.1-1 from Lenny).

ACK. Though all it would need is a conflicts with older util-linux
versions in debian/control:

| Conflicts: util-linux ( 2.13.1.1-1)

PS: I'm not talking about upgrading a full system from Etch to
Lenny+{1,2,..} but a minimal chroot used as base.tar.gz for
bootstrapping within FAI. This used to work (even with libc) without
any problems and as the fix is small and simple it might be worth
adding it.
