Bug#549549: Info received (Bug#549549: libdeskbar-tracker: Wrong installation directory in libdeskbar-applet = doesn't show up in deskbar)

2009-10-24 Thread Michael Biebl
Apparently this was (wrongfully) changed in
http://git.gnome.org/cgit/deskbar-applet/commit/?id=00f6cf7f4da6f4b7446f8177d172324f72b79648
as a result of
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589094

the package now uses $libexecdir/deskbar-applet/ where it used to have
$libdir/deskbar-applet.

This not only breaks existing 3rd party plugins, it also was not changed in all
places, i.e. it is not consistent.
As already mentioned, the pkg-config files still uses $libdir/deskbar-applet.

I'd prefer if the modules path kept stable and previous behaviour was restored.

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#549549: libdeskbar-tracker: Wrong installation directory in libdeskbar-applet = doesn't show up in deskbar

2009-10-04 Thread Jarno Elonen
Package: libdeskbar-tracker
Version: 0.6.95-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Deskbar applet loads modules from...
  /usr/lib/deskbar-applet/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible
...while 'libdeskbar-tracker' installs them in:
  /usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible

This prevents the applet from showing up in deskbar-applet's Preferences
list of plugins and makes the package unusable.

Symlinking the .py files to the correct directory fixed the problem.

I consider this to be a bug in deskbar-applet.

Thanks,
Michael
