Bug#551006: hugin: Hugin crashes at startup with segmentation fault

2011-10-14 Thread Jasper Mackenzie

I am experiencing this behaviour on a fresh install of sid.
I am running it from a headless machine (i386) over ssh.

Bug#551006: hugin: Hugin crashes at startup with segmentation fault

As soon as I run the program hugin, it displays the
main canvas then crashes. If tip of the day is enabled,
I can see the tip, but as soon as I close the info window
the program crashes. In both cases with segmentation fault.
I suspect it has something to do with the libwxgtk library,
since I find the following message in /var/log/messages:

Hello,

I am sending this mail to the various people who were hit by this bug:

Could you you please check whether it is still reproducable in
2010.4.0+dfsg~beta1 [1]? If this is the case, does moving away
~/.hugin solve the issue?

thanks in advance, cu andreas

Available in experimental, backports for lenny (which require some
stuff from backports.org) are available on my personal site on

Hello,

Andreas Bombe has experienced a similar problem and found this to be
the cause:

| I actually found the problem. I was running the fglrx driver without
| the ATI proprietary libGL. This does not work for all apps and after
| installing fglrx-glx, the problem disappeared.

Can this be related your crash, too?

thanks, cu andreas

 Yes, it does; I installed

   hugin_2009.2.0+dfsg-2_amd64.deb
   hugin-tools_2009.2.0+dfsg-2_amd64.deb
   hugin-data_2009.2.0+dfsg-2_all.deb
   libboost-thread1.40.0_1.40.0-2_amd64.deb

 and observed the same behaviour
 (segmentation fault). The most recent
release that does not seg-fault is

   0.7.0~svn3191+beta5-2

Does your testing include 0.7.0-2?

Could try to produce a backtrace?

gdb hugin
