Bug#551319: [grub] grub: crashes frequently on boot
I retried this weekend and so far it looks quite good: It happended only one time that Grub did not manage to load itself, (this one time it just rebooted, so could be something different as well) So, also considering that it seems only my machine (type) which is/was affected, I think it would be appropiate to close this issue. Could we have the exact text? I can't find any text in GRUB that's similar to the message you report, so it's hard to tell what's going on here. Can you reproduce this behaviour with version 1.98-1, currently in testing? I'm going to downgrade this from release-critical to important in the meantime, since it does seem to be fairly hardware-specific.
