Package: libboost-all-dev Version: 1.40.0.1 Severity: wishlist Hi,
I'd like to ask for the dependency chain to be changed from libboost-all-dev -> libboost1.40-all-dev -> libboost-foo1.40-dev to libboost-all-dev -> libboost-foo-dev -> libboost-foo1.40-dev Rationale: On systems where I don't have root permission, I'd like to be able to point the admin to a single package to install to get a fully functional Boost installation. libboost-all-dev provides this for unpackaged software, however compiling Debian packages is impossible as these declare build dependencies on individual libraries' unversioned -dev packages, which are not brought in by -all-dev.
