After that again, any command or program fails. It looks like a bad case of kernel memory corruption to me. I’m reassigning to the kernel, please don’t hesitate to reassign back to the X driver if you think this is wrong. Let’s hope KMS on Radeon (scheduled for 2.6.32 AFAIK) will fix that. Cheers, -- .''`. Same issue with Debian stock kernel 2.6.30-2-686. My graphics card is ATI RV280 based, driver is xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.3-1. The problem is reproduceable, starting /usr/games/sol causes the system to become completely unusable every time. However, besides the segmentation faults, I also got some command replies on different sessions. Within one session, they are reproducible. ls Inconsitency detected by ld.so: dynamic_link.h: 180: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion `info[20]->d_un.d_val == 17' failed! ls -bash: /bin/ls: Accessing a corrupted shared library I have also had /usr/games/sol actually start and report: Cannot start the game "Klondike". After that again, any command or program fails. Cheers, Andreas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? If it’s an Intel one, can you try again with enabling KMS? Cheers, -- .''`. Package: gnome-games Version: 1:2.28.1-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Upon starting Gnome Solitaire Games, a window frame very briefly appears and then immediately terminates. Initially, it appears as if just the application has terminated. But after that, no other program or command will run but cause a segmentation fault. Shutdown is not possible any more, init also fails. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-6-p4pe (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnome-games depends on: ii ggzcore-bin0.0.14.1-1GGZ Gaming Zone: various command-l ii gnome-games-data 1:2.28.1-1data files for the GNOME games ii gnuchess 5.07-6Plays a game of chess, either agai ii guile-1.8-libs 1.8.7+1-2 Main Guile libraries ii libatk1.0-01.28.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.10.1-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.8.8-2 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcanberra-gtk0 0.22-1Gtk+ helper for playing widget eve ii libcanberra0 0.22-1a simple abstract interface for pl ii libclutter-1.0-0 1.0.6-1 Open GL based interactive canvas l ii libclutter-gtk-0.10-0 0.10.2-1 Open GL based interactive canvas l ii libgcc11:4.4.2-3 GCC support library ii libgconf2-42.28.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libggz20.0.14.1-1GGZ Gaming Zone: common utilities ii libggzcore90.0.14.1-1GGZ Gaming Zone: core client front ii libggzmod4 0.0.14.1-1GGZ Gaming Zone: game frontend lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.2-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-02.18.3-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice62:1.0.5-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpango1.0-0 1.26.0-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii librsvg2-2 2.26.0-1 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii librsvg2-common2.26.0-1 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii libsm6 2:1.1.1-1 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.4.2-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.2-1 X11 client-side library ii libxml22.7.6.dfsg-1 GNOME XML library ii mesa-utils 7.6-1 Miscellaneous Mesa GL utilities ii python 2.5.4-2 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-bugbuddy2.26.0-1 Python module for bug-buddy ii python-gconf 2.28.0-1 Python bindings for the GConf conf ii python-gtk22.16.0-1 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii python-gtkglext1 1.1.0-3.1 GtkGLext python bindings ii python-opengl 3.0.0~c1-1Python bindings to OpenGL ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-15 compression library - runtime Versions of packages gnome-games recommends: ii gnome-games-extra-data2.28.0-1 games for the GNOME desktop (extra ii gvfs 1.4.1-5userspace virtual filesystem - ser Versions of packages gnome-games suggests: pn gnome-hearts (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
