Bug#560979: sonata: prefers egg.trayicon over gtk.StatusIcon

That should be fixed for the GtkStatusIcon. It supports middle click and wheeling. Reopening since the recommends is back, although it won't stop me from removing the package (when that's possible). Bug#560979: sonata: prefers egg.trayicon over gtk.StatusIcon
Hey, please note that sonata prefers egg.trayicon for a reason .. middleclicking on the tray icon to pause and wheeling to change volume doesn't work with gtk.StatusIcon. So, by removing egg.trayicon, you lose important functionality. Could it possibly still suggest python-eggtrayicon, at least until sonata is fixed or eggtrayicon definitely removed? Thanks, Martin Hradil (or should I open a new bug for this?) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#560979: sonata: prefers egg.trayicon over gtk.StatusIcon
Package: sonata Severity: normal User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: oldlibs eggtrayicon Hi, sonata prefers egg.trayicon over gtk.StatusIcon, but the former is deprecated and not maintained. sonata should prefer gtk.StatusIcon and the python-eggtrayicon dependency should be removed. Simply removing the dependency and depending on python-gtk2 = 2.10 should do the job as that will guarantee gtk.StatusIcon is present. I'd like to remove eggtrayicon from the archive before Squeeze is released if possible, so would be great if you could fix this by then.
