Ping?

Should I do an NMU?

Hey Jérémy!

Although there are specific maintainers for ruby libraries maintained
under the pkg-ruby-extras team (and libgpgme-ruby seems to be maintained
by Rudi Cilibrasi cilib...@debian.org), I think that most everyone has
had other team members do work on others' packages, and I suspect that
one should assume a low-threshold NMU policy in general.

It would be better if you joined the team and updated the package via
the subversion repository, it would reduce the work on everyone in
general, however I would completely understand if you didn't feel like
joining yet another team, and its certainly not reasonable to ask that
all users of a package be part of the maintenance team :)

2010-01-17 Thread Rudi Cilibrasi
Hi everybody,

I apologize for my laxity. I just had my first child a few months ago
and am busy at work because we just merged with our competitors and
are now integrating massive software bases etc. Anyhow the upshot is
that I have only had time to do an occasional upload this year and I
will be slow so please do not hesitate to NMU me wherever you feel
appropriate I will not be offended and I will pick up my pace and get
caught up in Debian this year with more updates on weekends soon.
Best regards,

Rudi

Bug#563380: libgpgme-ruby1.8: /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/gpgme.rb:898:in `new': Unknown error code (GPGME::Error)

2010-01-02 Thread Jérémy Bobbio
Package: libgpgme-ruby1.8
Version: 1.0.6-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi!

The version of libgpgme-ruby1.8 currently in Debian is not compatible with the
version of libgpgme actually in Debian.

Every examples shipped with the package fail like the following:

  @.../libgpgme-ruby1.8/examples$ ./keylist.rb
  /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/gpgme.rb:898:in `new': Unknown error code (GPGME::Error)
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/gpgme.rb:415:in `list_keys'
from ./keylist.rb:4

I suspected an issue with like the one described on the bugtracker of
ruby-gpgme [1] about a missing call to GPGME::check_version, but it looks like
this is another issue.
